Ours is a country of contrasts. Contrasts can be very interesting and chances are that you’ll always find Iceland exciting whatever the season. How about hot or cold weather, hot springs or glaciers, the great silence of the wilderness or city traffic?

For the adventure minded traveler we offer dogsledding, whalewatching, jeep tours and nature watching cruises to name just a few possibilities - the list is endless. Or would you rather prefer hiking, trekking, walking or even biking? Do you want to see the midnight sun? The northern lights? At your service! 

Reykjavik Theatres

Reykjavík has two main theatres and a lot of smaller ones. Outside Reykjavík there are also many smaller theatres, notably in Akureyri.

The Reykjavík City Theatre is to be found near the shopping mall Kringlan. The theatre has 24 actors and every year sees at least six new productions. Moreover, the Icelandic Dance Company has it's residence there. The theatre has one big stage, 2 studios and a café-theatre.

The National Theatre of Iceland is in the centre of Reykjavík and presents between 10 to 14 new plays of all kinds each season. It boasts of three different venues, the Main Stage, the Black Box and the Workshop Stage.

Iceland Dress Code

How to dress in Iceland? - Icelanders usually dress casually except at formal affairs. We also like to dress up when going to the theatre. Most bars and night clubs will accept casual clothing.
