About 35 km south of Akureyri (still in the fjord of Eyjafjörður) lies a beautiful cluster of mounds and steep hills called Leyningshólar.
It is the perfect camp site with grassy hills and sheltered, attractive spots for camping. It is also a great place for hiking. The mounds and hills were formed by rock slides which occurred 7-8000 years ago.
