The international airport is located at Keflavík, about 45 min drive from Reykjavík center. There is a bus from the airport to Reykjavík and there are several car-hire companies in the arrival hall.

On the highway from Keflavík to Reykjavík, a mysterious landscape meets the traveler. A layer of green moss covers the low terrain and no trees are to be seen. The air is so clean you can see for miles and miles. You might easily believe you had landed on the Moon...

Which Airlines Fly to Iceland?
When this is written, two airlines offer scheduled flights to Iceland from various cities.
My advice to you is to CHECK THEM BOTH and compare to find the cheapest flight at any given time. Take into account how much it costs you to travel between airports etc. and if you have to stay overnight somewhere just to get a cheap flight it might not save you any money at all!

NB: In the summertime you might find flights with low-cost airlines such as Germanwings and Air Berlin from Germany.
