A sleeping bag accommodation in hostels, hotels or on a farm (agritourism) can be a good solution. Check here for agritourism accommodation all over the country.
There are many farms with sleeping bag accommodation (and also made up beds) to choose from in different parts of the country. It is also a sure way to get to know the real Iceland and Icelanders better.
Camping in Iceland is the cheapest accommodation. That goes without saying. You will find around 125 registered campsites all over the country. They are usually open from the beginning of June until the end of August. Camping outside these areas is not allowed.
You can expect a price range from US $5-7depending on what kind of facilities are offered. Senior citizens often get a discount and also children.
